As
one of Pennant Civil
Engineering's strategic
initiatives, the
division has made
a commitment to
embrace Partnering
with our clients
and suppliers to
improve the overall
quality of the construction
process. As part
of this initiative,
Pennant has undertaken
an effort to develop
the principles of
Partnering internally
to develop company-wide
relationships which
will allow us to
work harder and
more efficiently
in achieving the
needs of our clients
and their customers.
Our
comprehensive Group
strategy serves
as the basis for
the team approach
to all projects
we undertake on
a Partnering basis;
helping to accomplish
the following objectives:
- To
have a positive
influence on
final costs
through the
early involvement
in civil engineering
design.
- To
carry out ground
modelling studies
on behalf of
our clients
to facilitate
earth-moving
tasks and reduce
costs associated
with double-handling,
imported material,
material off-site
and land fill
tax liabilities.
- To
allocate construction
and surveying
teams from the
outset to encourage
team-building,
better communication
and efficient
handling of
potential disputes.
- To
provide a vehicle
for ongoing
feedback at
all levels within
the project
through bench-marking.
- To
ensure better
adherence to
project programme
and budgets
through the
practice of
continual improvement.
- To
instil a commitment
to resolving
disputes, helping
to maintain
the relationship
between all
parties and
encouraging
the smoother
running of the
project by resolving
any disputes
as early as
possible with
the minimal
input.
- To
create a 'roadmap'
for communication,
relationships
and objectives,
all determined
during an initial
pre-start workshop.
- To
have ongoing
review meetings
and workshops
that ensure
the momentum
of the Partnering
agreement is
retained.
